Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern use of the privately operated Steele County Busted Mugshots reference resource. By using it, a visitor accepts these terms. A visitor who does not accept them should not use the resource.

This resource is privately owned and is not affiliated with a government office, sheriff, jail, corrections department, court, or state agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a consumer report, investigative service, or FCRA-covered screening service.

Private Reference Resource

The resource points toward official Steele County and Minnesota sources and may display outside search tools. It does not store or issue official booking files, jail roster entries, court records, or warrants. It cannot confirm current custody, alter a public record, or act on behalf of the Steele County Sheriff’s Office, the detention center, Minnesota courts, or Minnesota DOC.

Responsible Use

A visitor may use the resource only for lawful, respectful purposes. A visitor may not harass, stalk, threaten, impersonate, defame, interfere with another person’s access, attempt unauthorized access, disrupt operation, or use automated tools to scrape or overload the service. A visitor remains responsible for the information submitted to a third-party search tool and for compliance with that provider’s terms.

FCRA-Prohibited Uses

This resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide consumer reports, background checks, credit reports, or screening services, and neither its content nor any partner result may be used for an FCRA-regulated purpose.

  • Do not use information for a hiring, firing, promotion, or other employment decision.
  • Do not use it for tenant, housing, or rental screening.
  • Do not use it to decide creditworthiness, insurance eligibility, or premiums.
  • Do not use it for licensing, permit, government-program eligibility, or any similar regulated decision.
  • Do not use it for any other purpose governed by the FCRA or a comparable law.

Links and Partner Tools

Links may lead to a county roster, sheriff records instructions, city police notices, court resources, Minnesota DOC, federal locators, local reporting, or a third-party tool. External content is outside the control of this resource. A link is not an endorsement, a warranty, or a promise that the outside source is available, accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for a particular purpose. Read the terms and privacy notices of each outside service.

No Warranties

The resource and its content are supplied on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. No warranty is made regarding accuracy, completeness, timeliness, security, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or the thoroughness of any partner search result. Custody status and public records can change rapidly; only the originating office can provide an official statement.

Liability and Indemnity

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the owners and providers are not liable for damages arising from use of, inability to use, reliance on, or access to the resource or an outside link. A visitor agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the owners and providers harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from the visitor’s use of the resource, violation of these terms, or violation of another person’s rights.

Intellectual Property

The original text, design, logos, graphics, and code are owned by Steele County Busted Mugshots or its content partners, except for material owned by another source. A visitor may not copy, distribute, modify, sell, or create a derivative work from protected material without written permission or another lawful basis.

Changes and Access

These terms may be changed at any time by posting a revised version. Revised terms apply when posted. Access may be limited, suspended, or ended at any time, with or without notice, including where use appears unlawful, abusive, or inconsistent with these terms.

Minnesota Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Minnesota unless applicable law requires another forum. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be adjusted only as needed and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Terms Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed to the Contact Us page. Questions about current custody, a booking record, a warrant, or court status must go to the appropriate public office.
